Three journeys that became one.
Kasey Elliott Maher
Yoga became Kasey’s passion when she fell in love with her body for the first time during a yoga class in Colorado. From that moment forward she began to weave yoga and mental health together to inspire others to love themselves. She became a certified yoga and meditation teacher in May of 2014. She is an advocate for mental illness, speaks nationally and works closely with a nonprofit, This is My Brave. She is a mother, a wife and a friend. Kasey’s ability to carefully and authentically guide people to open themselves up through yoga, meditation, music and cathartic movement is medicine for the soul. She will help you embrace the idea that your shadows do not have control of you, but instead are an invitation to become stronger.
Ruth Horsey
Ruth was born in Kitale, Kenya in 1960, and lived on a farm for the first part of her life. When she was a teenager, she spent two years at sea, sailing from Southampton to Mombasa, through the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. In 2012 she moved from Nairobi to a plot of land bordering a wildlife corridor in Nanyuki, Kenya (where the retreat will take place). She has been a professional landscaper for 26 years. She loves being in the bush with her animals, and is a naturalist who is very connected to the Earth. Her true passion is BodyTalk, which she began doing professionally in 2006. She specializes in past life and journey work.
Shannon Burke
Shannon has spent her entire career in the African travel space. Her need to travel was inspired by her parents at a young age. Her love affair with Africa began with a few years in Cape Town, where she was introduced to the tourism industry. She moved on to be the product executive for East Africa at Audley Travel, a bespoke tour operator out of the US and the UK. She is now part of an itinerary software company, Safari Portal, and has her own company, Louis & Bird. When not on the African continent, she is physically based in Newburyport, MA, and loves being outdoors and hiking with her dogs.
